Percussion Audition Notes:
Students will audition on Mallets with Etude 1 and Snare Drum with Etude 2 for placement in the Cen-Tex Honor Band.
Each student will perform selected scales as prescribed by the judges. Immediately following the Scales the participant will perform the selected portion of the Mallet Etude.
When the Mallet portion of the audition is complete, the participant will perform a short rudimental exercise. When the rudimental exercise is complete the participant will perform the selected portion of the Snare Etude.
All of the candidates will be ranked for placement in the band.
The organizers will assign parts for performance as necessary for all members to have opportunity on all equipment."
In addition to these things: we ask that bell kits not be used in the audition room. Xylophone & Marimba are provided for the student.
