The CENTEX Band is an honor band formed by students in 1A, 2A, and 3A high schools in the Central Texas Region. Students audition via a blind audition much like the TMEA and ATSSB All Region auditions.
Top students are chosen to form "Honor Bands" at the high school and middle school levels. The students and their directors then meet for a few rehearsals under the direction of a great conductor/clinician and rehearse music for a professionally recorded concert. It makes for a very exciting event. The audition preparation and clinic/concert process helps grow young musicians' skills by exposure to great band literature in both the audition and the clinic/concert.
If your school fits the description above (1A, 2A, 3A and in the Central Texas Region) and you are a director who wants to participate in the CENTEX Honor Band auditions, follow the directions in the audition tab above!
